what i do at harding
currently i am working on producing a film. i am an electronic media production & business management major so i am all into the film stuff. this summer i worked for wes craven films and spitfire pictures out in los angeles. it was an awesome experience and everything that i was involved in at harding actually helped me get them... i was really nervous about getting internships but in the end, i was offered six.
i started out at harding doing just business until i got involved with tv16, the campus television news station. it is a great program and of all of the christian schools it has one of the best studios and the most equipment. not only do we have tons of cameras that we are allowed to check out and use, but there are macs that we edit on and the film i'm working on actually has shots that will be done with cranes, dollies and more equipment than most small schools have.
i will probably be talking a lot about my film and things that relate to the business and communication departments, since that is where most of my time is spent... the college of business administration (a.k.a. COBA) is an awesome program... most of the teachers have actual real-world business experience and they convey that in the ways that they teach. there are also some pretty cool programs like a summer in england and the leadership seminar. i was lucky enough to be a part of the seminar which is a weekend in branson, missouri... but it counts for three credit hours... we had tons of fun and words cannot express how greatful i am that i decided to apply for it.
in past years, i have been involved in almost anything and everything on campus... i joined a social club, i was class representative and executive vice president of the student government, and i was in professional clubs and more... let's just say that i kept busy...
basically what i am trying to convey is that there is something for everybody here and you can find a way to be involved - whether you are interested in going into the film industry or whether you want to be a scientist... there are unlimited possibilities!
